And just like that….I am alone

 The kids started school today, and I have some serious mixed emotions about it.  Part of me is so sad to see them getting on their buses and heading off to school because it means I am all alone now.  With hubby gone and working and the kids gone at school it is just me…..all alone all day long.  

This morning I woke up at 5:30 am, showered and got ready.  By 6 am I was in the kitchen prepping breakfast for the kids, and before I knew it they were off and waiting for the bus.  Didn’t get official first day of school photos because one kiddo was way too crabby (did snag photos from the ring LOL).  

The kids left, and I cleaned and now am sitting here twiddling my fingers.  I think I will make some homemade bread…..only consolation to the whole thing is hubby is on his way home right now.

After being gone for six weeks…..

 I left my home in June to attend a wedding, and then from there headed off to my daughter’s house to awake the birth of my grand baby.  I was gone a total of six weeks, and was super stressed out over what would happen to my garden.  This year (my first year doing this) I decided to plant a large (to me) garden.  My husband built me several boxes so that I could keep things orderly.  Everything was planted before I left, and my husband did the best he could taking care of it while I was gone.  When I came back I couldn’t believe how much everything had grown.  Honestly it was a little much for me to see because it was overgrown, there were weeds and it didn’t look anything like I had planned it to be.  That being said we are still getting a lot of vegetables from it.   One of the first things I decided to do was make pickles because we had so many cucumbers.  Yesterday I ran three batches of pickles through the canner.  I had planned on doing more, but my daughter came over so I put i

His next assignment….

 Today hubby was offered a new contract, but this time he would be going to Ohio.  I am so unsure of how I feel about that one.  He will be at least 6 hours away.  He thinks it might be a good idea because it is four 10 hour days which he says would leave him with three days off to be at home.  The problem with that is it will be much further away….the pay is also $200 less per week, and it would definitely mean no driving home after work to see me.  With gas prices as high as they are that has me a little nervous too. Right now he is two hours away and that was hard.  How will I handle six hours away?????   Part of the big problem is I think he is worried about getting the “ideal” job and if he passes one up then a better one won’t come along.  I have to admit I am a little worried about that as well especially since he has to have a new contract signed before this one ends.   Another part of what worries me is that they want to hire him without even interviewing him.  My fear is they
